Our favorite Italian food in the metroplex! 9 years ago, I found this gem of a restaurant, and I go back as often as possible. Fresh! Delicious! Prompt service! Pro tip: order the Chicken Picatta. It's not on the menu, but it's FABULOUS.
This is our go to Italian spot. We have not had anything here that was not absolutely incredible. From the pesto to the lemon shrimp, the place is just amazing. Portions are huge, so bring your appetite. Great service and the place is very welcoming.
Cucina means kitchen or cuisine in Italian. Decided to have Roman Cucina with my family in Dallas. From the moment we walked in, it was a bustling atmosphere that set the stage for an authentic Italian meal. It sort of reminded me an Italy especially the ambiance. With pictures filling the walls of The GodFather, Italy and many things Italian related. The restaurant was very lively, filled with the hum of conversation and the clinking of glasses and utensils, yet the service remained impressively smooth. Despite the crowd, our food arrived promptly, fresh, and beautifully plated. To start, we ordered the calamari, and I have to say--it was some of the best I have ever had. Each bite was a perfect balance of textures: the light, golden crispiness of the batter gave way to an unbelievably tender calamari. It was served with a marinara sauce that tasted like it had been made that very morning--bursting with the fresh, natural sweetness of tomatoes and a hint of garlic and basil. Every dip into that sauce elevated the calamari even more. Oh let me not forget to squeeze the lemon wedge over the calamari to after tasting it by itself, that actually took it to a whole other level. Alongside our appetizer, we enjoyed their complimentary bread, which came out warm and paired perfectly with a simple yet irresistible mix of olive oil and balsamic vinegar. The combination of the crusty bread soaking up that tangy, slightly sweet balsamic was addictive--so much so that we had to stop ourselves from filling up before our entrées arrived! You've been warned! For my main course, I ordered the shrimp in lemon garlic sauce over fettuccine, and it was flavorful. The pasta was cooked to an ideal al dente, the shrimp were plump and flavorful, and the sauce had just the right amount of consistency. The bright citrusy zing of the lemon blended seamlessly with the rich, buttery garlic sauce, coating every ribbon of fettuccine in sheer indulgence. Every forkful was packed with bold yet balanced flavors, making it impossible not to savor each bite. Beyond the tasteful food, our waiter, Ian, was outstanding. He was attentive without being intrusive, knowledgeable about the menu, and had a genuinely welcoming demeanor that made our experience even better. Even with the high volume of guests, he ensured we had everything we needed, from drink refills to extra napkins, without us having to ask. Roman Cucina truly delivers a first-class Italian dining experience. The food is top notch, the service is top-tier, and the atmosphere makes you feel like you're part of a big Italian family. It's been a go to of mines for awhile now, so I had to review it!
When I am in town, this is my go to place for Italian food. The service has always been great as the manager typically comes around to see how things are going. This place is extremely popular so I suggest not going on a Sunday as you might have a long wait. They have ample parking. They provide hot bread, oil and balsamic vinegar as a starter; Romain salad is included with your meal. I love the dressing that comes in the salad because it's refreshing and very light. The bread is soooooo good and addicting! I typically get the lobster pasta and add shrimp. I love coming here when I can, oh!! I tried the sangria that was only $5. Like it was soooo good!!!!!! $5 sangrias!!!!!! I would've had more than two but my family was with me. lol. I highly recommend this place. They have very dim lighting, which provides a romantic mood. This is definitely a must!
Great food and you definitely get A LOT for the price!!! Entrees are roughly 15-20$ each and for most it's enough for 2 or 3 meals. The service is quick and everyone takes care of you. Empty plate? It's gone in seconds. Need a refill? They've got it done before you even have to ask. Great family spot or fun for a date night.
I wouldnt be able discover this place by myself without Yelp's help. Their specials and signature pasta dishes, like spaghetti carbonara, are frequently praised for their flavorful and creamy sauces. Additionally, the calamari gets rave reviews on Yelp. Their cannoli and tiramisu is their popular dessert. Overall, the hearty yet elegant Italian flavors encourage customers to return. I also love this restaurant's vibe and setting. Excellent service as well.
I finally tried this place and I'm so happy to be reviewing it. I visited on Saturday night, but this place always ended up on my mind, due to the great reviews and the Italian food pictures. First of all, I'm not Italian, but I might as well be. I travel often to Italy, and I have a passion for Italian food, especially pastas. So you know I'm going to be picky about everything here including the bread. We ordered espresso martinis and wine for drinks, which were very good. 5$3 bread was so flaky, and buttery. The salad and that dressing, I was not expecting. I had asked for dressing to be on the side (to minimize the calories), but it was so good, I poured it all in. For entrees, I had to have the chicken picatta and my best friend had the bolognese with meatballs. My chicken picatta was so good, I couldn't stop eating it, and I am great about portion control. The bolognese was so good, I had to eat some of it even after I was full. So were the meatballs. A huge shoutout to Bree, who was very attentive and friendly, and also didn't say a word about us being the last ones left since they were closing. We didn't feel rush or bothered at all. We'll be back! We loved it so much! The ambiance, the decor, the local spot scene. 10/10.
Happened to be in this area and went on yelp for a dinner suggestion. Our first time here will definitely be back. The food was great, service great. We started with the complimentary bread then ordered the cheese bread , house salads and Italian Wedding Soup. All excellent. Main course was pasta fettuccine, pink & Pasta Tombello all excellent! Lots of food we could have split one entree !!!! But we wanted to try all. Prices are very reasonable for this quality of food. We did also order the Tiramisu and a cannoli . I loved the Tiramisu perfect balance. I'm not a cannoli fan but my wife loved it! We will be back ! Overall 4.5 review.
Started the night at the bar. Emma made an awesome Manhattan and was very welcoming and friendly. Service was on point. She made sure we were taken care of until our table was ready. We arrived at around 6pm and we're seated by 630...I will say I think we got lucky. The place is full by 630...so reservations are a must. Diego our server was very attentive and walked us through the menu and made a few suggestions based on our preferences. Dinner was great. We absolutely did not have room for dessert. The ambiance is cozy and comfortable. There are booths and tables. Booths are plush and very comfortable. Tables are a decent size for a group. We sat at a table closest to the interior fireplace. Super cozy and highly recommend for a date night. 10/10.
Roman's Cucina is one of the BEST italian resturants in the DFW area! This is one of my go-to dinner spots and I've consistently had stellar experiences each time I've gone. Firstly, they have some of the best complimentary breads of all time... it's perfectly fluffy, warm, and tastes so fresh! Not to mention, the bread is endless and served piping hot regardless of how many times it's ordered. It's truly become one of the things I look forward to the most when dining here! Not only is the bread amazing, but the pasta is also spectacular. I order the Fettuccine Pasta Rosa, and it hits each time. Firstly, the portion-to-price ($14) ratio is amazing- Roman's isn't stingy with their serving sizes, which is a refreshing change of pace compared to other overpriced Italian spots in the area. Moreover, the Pasta Rosa's creamy tomato sauce is unfailingly wonderful each time. Not to mention, the service is stellar! Each server is attentive without being overbearing, making Roman's one of the best Italian restaurants in the area. Great ambiance, service, and food. Highly recommend!
